手作りブラウス／handmade blouse

前回の残った生地で娘の半袖ブラウスを作りました。今まで作った中で最難関。

I made a short-sleeved blouse of my daughter with the rest textile. This is the most difficult of all handmade works.

娘がニコニコと喜んでくれたので作って良かった。

I`m so happy to see my little one`s big smile.

ハマグリ／basket clam

ハマグリはマレー語でケパ（kepah）。マーケットで買うとボール1杯分（1kg）で300円位。

Basket clam is called "kepah" in Malay. We can buy it at Batu Lanchang wet market or Cecil street wet market. The bowl of clams as below is 1 kilogram for RM10.

とっても泥臭いので調理前には泥抜きが必須。開始5時間後。

These clams smell so muddy. Removing mud and sand is necessary before cooking. Five hours passed...

水を換えて、さらに10時間後。
After changing water, ten more hours...

臭いが気になるなら、少なくとも一晩は泥抜きした方が良いと思います。

I think it`s better to remove the muddy smell not for several hours but at least throughout one night if you want to remove it completely.

猫と雨宿り＠Bricklin Bar Cafe

突然のスコール。Bricklin Bar Cafeで猫と雨宿り。

We suddenly had a squall and run into the cozy cafe, Bricklin Bar Cafe.

We were taking shelter from squall there with a white cat.

中庭のアートが面白い。晴れた日にまた来よう。

There were some art works in the courtyard. How interesting! I`ll come again when it is fine day.

Hutton通りにオープン したアッサムラクサ屋さん。アッサムラクサはお店によって当たり外れが大きいけど、ここは大当たり。メインランドの味付けだそうです。ラクサ好きの方はお試し下さい。

 I went to a new restaurant, where was located along Hutton Lane. The signature food was Assam Laksa tasted from main land in Malaysia. I think Assam Laksa in Penang have really hit or miss, but here is "big hit". If you are Laksa lover, it`s worth trying.

自分で／by herself

1歳3ヶ月になった娘は好奇心の塊。例えば食事中、私がやることをよく真似しようとします。今まで手づかみで食べていたのに急に箸を使おうとしたり、スプーンで飲ませていたお味噌汁を拒否して、自分でお茶碗を持って飲むように。後片付けが大変だけど、好きなようにやらせてあげようと決めました。

My daughter turned 15 months old and are interested in everything surrounded around her. For example, she often tries to copy me during meals. She used to eat by hands, but suddenly she tried to use chopsticks by herself... And furthermore, she refused to be fed miso soup with a baby spoon by me.... Now she is trying to eat soup holding a soup bowl by herself. Anyway I decided to let her eat as she likes, although it`s more and more harder to clear the table for me.

正確にはわかりませんが、この日恐らくドリアンを30房以上食べました。推定カロリーはなんと3000kcal超！

I`m not sure exactly how many pieces of durian I had on that day, but I think maybe over 30 pieces. That means I in-took over 3000 kcal!
